The 48th Kuwait International Book Fair officially opened today, November 19, 2025, bringing together over 600 publishers from 33 countries for an 11-day celebration of reading, culture, and knowledge. Running until November 29 at the Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref, this annual event has become the region’s largest and most beloved literary gathering, offering everything from rare manuscripts to children’s storybooks across Halls 5, 6, and 7. A Cultural Milestone: Kuwait as Capital of Arab Culture 2025 This year’s fair holds special significance as Kuwait proudly holds the title of Capital of Arab Culture and Media 2025. The event runs under the slogan “Capital of Culture… Homeland of Books,” and features the Sultanate of Oman as the official guest of honor—a reflection of the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations. Oman’s pavilion alone spans over 500 square meters and showcases more than 40 publishers, 10,000 titles, and a packed schedule of cultural programs including Nabati poetry evenings, calligraphy workshops, and cutting-edge AR/hologram displays of Gulf heritage.
